EXAMINATION OF THE TEAR FILM




Colored interference fringes 
may also be seen on the tear 
film over the cornea.  These 
are visible when the oily layer 
of the tear film is thicker than 
normal.  These are most often 
seen just above the lower lid 
following pressure on the 
lower lid which forced lipid 
out of the meibomian glands.
